Sustainable Development covers a very wide field of action as far as social policy is concerned (improvement of living, health and safety conditions).

Meralliance is developing a genuine philosophy of action in order to optimise working conditions with a goal of:

“Continuous improvement of employees’ hygiene, safety and training conditions”.

We are very vigilant of our employees’ well-being. The areas of safety and training are our top priorities. That is why we have implemented action plans aiming to improve working conditions.

The principle of the 5 S’s
Because efficient, quality work requires a clean environment, safety and exactness, “5-S” action groups (a reference to the original Japanese words meaning “delete, file, clean, standardise, follow up”) were implemented in order to build a functional work environment, governed by simple, precise and effective rules. The 5 S’s are thus one of the foundations on which our firm is building is improvement process.

Prevention of RSIs, “Repetitive Stress Injuries”
Each year, diagnoses are made and action plans are put into effect because continued improvements are essential to good working conditions.

A Training Plan
Encouraging the adaptation and development of skills are the watchwords for the 2006 training plan. A minimum budget of 2% of payroll is devoted to training each year.
