Sustainable packaging

Global urgency
400 million tons of plastic are produced every year, and 36% of that is used in packaging, including single-use plastics used for food containers. Approximately 85% of this amount ends up in landfills or as unregulated waste. In addition, only 2% of single-use plastic products use recycled feedstock.
Bans and taxes on single-use plastics exist in more than 120 countries, but are not doing enough to reduce overall pollution. Converting to sustainable seafood packaging helps support a circular economy, reduce waste, and meet consumer demands.

Our approach
As a market leader, we have a responsibility to minimise the environmental impact of our packaging. We adopt the 3Rs circular economy approach (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to reduce the environmental impact and optimise the use of resources.
Our goals
Reuse, recycle and reduce plastic consumption :
Reuse: encourage the use of recycled materials
- 50% post-consumer recycled plastic for rigid plastics by 2030
- Recycling polystyrene from our fish crates
